Pupil Premium

Principles of Pupil Premium and Oldfield

The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is additional annual funding provided to schools from the Government.

The funding is provided for:

  • children who have been eligible for Free School Meals at any stage in the last 6 years - £1320 per child
  • children who are looked after (children in Local Authority Care) - £1900 per child
  • children adopted from card and children who have left care under a Special Guardianship or Residence Order - £1900 per child

National statistics show that children in these particular groups can have consistently lower levels of achievement than those not in these groups. The aim of the PPG is to close this attainment gap.

At Oldfield the way we use the PPG reflects our commitment to ensuring that teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all pupils and that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups, which includes meeting the needs of disadvantaged pupils.

The PPG is allocated following a needs analysis which identifies priority classes, groups or individuals.

In the documents below, you can see how we spent the grant in 2016 17 and the impact it had, and our plans for spending the money in 2017 18.

Sports Premium

The Sports Premium is annual funding from the government which is to be used to increase the quality and breadth of PE and sports activities and to increase the levels of participation in PE and sports. The level of funding is based on the number of children in the school.
