We're looking forward to the year ahead with lots of exciting learning across the curriculum and supporting children in becoming independent learners. We will be participating in many practical activities in Science learning about the Vikings in History and lots more. The highlight of the year is our residential PGL trip to Osmington Bay in the Summer term.
Please make sure your child reads every evening and is confident in their times tables. Please see the termly curriculum maps for more information about learning in Year 5.
Mr Gami (Y5O)
After starting my teaching career in 2005, I have been fortunate enough to work as a Year Leader, Key Stage 2 Manager and even an acting Deputy Headteacher! Organisational skills are very important to me and the classes that I teach quickly become very experienced with the level of independence and self-responsibility that I know pupils can achieve. I am excited to be able to bring my expertise, skills and knowledge to Oldfield, and look forward to working with your children to help stretch them, not just academically, but holistically too.
Ms Franey (Y5L Monday - Tuesday)
I started teaching nearly 20 years ago after completing a BA Honours with QTS Honours in Physical Education. I have taught in several schools throughout Ealing and Hillingdon, in both mainstream and specialist education. I started Oldfield Primary in 2016 as Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENDco), and this year I am delighted to be part of the year 5 team. I am looking forward to making a difference.
Mrs Tranter (Y5L Wednesday - Friday)
I studied Italian at London University, during my degree I had the opportunity to teach English as a foreign language. After graduating from University and obtaining a Masters in Marketing, I worked in Marketing for 10 years before deciding to switch into teaching. I have always wanted to be a teacher and with 2 young children decided to do the PGCE. I have been at Oldfield Primary School for 9 years and am completely passionate about teaching. I have taught across year groups in KS2 and had different roles of responsibility. I am very excited to be teaching Year 5, I am currently the Year 5 & 6 Phase Leader, English Co-Leader and Music Leader.
