Oldfield Primary School

A community of proud and resilient children who are learning to take their place in the world.

Year 2

We're looking forward to the year ahead with lots of fantastic learning. In Year 2, we will be learning all about our local area, exploring what is so amazing about space and investigating how we are different from animals.  Please see the termly curriculum maps for more information about learning in Year 2.

Miss Arnold (Y2O)

After some careers advice from my college teacher, I decided that I wanted to work in education. I completed my English degree with honours and then did my PGCE. However, it was only when I first taught a year 1 child to understand place value in an ‘eureka’ moment that I truly realised that teaching is my vocation in life! I completed one of my training placements in Oldfield Primary and have been teaching in KS1 ever since, experiencing those magical moments every day! I’ve had an additional role in being the Art/Computing leader and I’m currently the Maths subject coordinator.

Ms Inson (Y2L Monday - Thursday)

I have taught in several London schools and have experience of teaching children from Reception to Year 6. I studied Politics at university then a PGCE. I have also taught English to children and adults in Japan and have worked a great deal in London with children with English as an additional language. I have just started to lead Science at Oldfield. I live locally so I know the area and community well; I enjoy exploring the great outdoors and visiting London with my own children and the children at Oldfield.

Mrs Taylor (Y2L Friday)

I have been teaching for over twenty years and have worked in eight different schools across London. I have experience of teaching children in all year groups from Nursery to Year 6. I specialised in Early Years Education at university and completed a Bachelor of Education with Honours. It is a pleasure to be working at Oldfield for the second time. I was a nursery teacher here from 2001 – 2004. I returned in 2014 to lead the Early Years Team.
