In Reception we work together to embed the social and emotional skills that are prerequisites to the mastery of the different areas of the Early Years curriculum. We love to learn in Reception and this can be seen in everything that we take part in. Our curriculum is stimulating and fun because it is based on the children’s own interests.
Please see the termly curriculum maps for more information about teaching and learning in Reception.
Miss Mauro (YRO)
I have a degree in Primary Education specialising in Early Years and KS1 from the University of Brighton. I have worked at Oldfield Primary School for 3 years, and love working in the Early Years Foundation Stage as you are able to embrace every child’s abilities through a creative teaching and learning environment based upon their own interests. I am now co-leading PE within the school, and have a passion for sports and promoting a healthy life style.
Miss Davies (YRL)
Last year I completed my first year of teaching here at Oldfield after graduating with an honours in Primary Teaching from Roehampton University. I am a subject specialist in Art and PE and I am passionate about ensuring children have a learning environment that allows full opportunity to explore and excel in creativity and exercise. After enjoying my first year in KS1, I am excited for my time in Early Years and find it fascinating to see children learn so many exciting things through exploration and play!
